04.X.1942 – Mi 86-90  – Red Cross Charity issue

During 1941 Government decided that every year in October will be the Red Cross week with stamps issued to benefit the Red cross. Using this stamps was obligatory through the whole Red Cross week.

One additional Charity stamp (Mi Z1) was also issued together with this set.

The quantity of printed stamps for this issue was much higher than the number of actually sold ones, so a considerable amount was destroyed.

Stamp were printed in sheets of 24 stamps + pendant in the middle.


Perforations

In this set, some double and missing perforations could be found.

Color proofs

Every value has two color and two phase proofs that were issued in the Minister albums. Interestingly, there are no normal imperforated stamps in the Minister albums. Of course, normal, imperforated stamps exist, but they are rarer than the proofs.

Known are abkltsch (offset) of stamps and Red croos. Moved red cross and missing red cross on Mi 86 also exist.

FDC

There are two different FDCs with two different cancels.

Commemorative cards

Two special commemorative cards were issued – one with the charity stamp Mi Z1, and two lowest-value stamps, and another one numbered and signed by the Croatian Red Cross president, complete with a full set and a charity stamp.
Few different Propaganda cards were also issued.
