1945 Unissued Red Cross stamp

Design: I. Režek

This was intended to be issued on the Red Cross week.

Sheets

Only one stamp was predicted to be issued in mini sheets of 16 stamps.

Stamps are printed in a proof mini sheets of 4 x 4 stamps on the top of the sheet and two times 2 x 2 stamps on the bottom. Four stamps on the last column to the right don’t have printed cross.

There are also quarters where this cross is in red color.

It is not clear what would be the final choice of color of this stamp because three different colors were printed and those three color proofs have many tone variants.
We can find them as imperforated proofs in different types of papers – ordinary and pelure – both gummed and ungummed; on a thick white cardboard paper and on the yellowish thick paper.
