Perforations

There are many perforation varieties, such as perforated only diagonally, vertically, or only one side of the stamps. Double or even more perforations are also common for this issue, including lots of printer’s waste.

Imperforated stamps exist for all values also on the different types of paper.
The rarest ones are Mi 55, Mi 61 and Mi 65.

Imperforated stamps for a few values also exist on a thick carton paper – Mi 48, Mi 51, Mi 52

Tete -beche imperforated pair for stamps Mi 63 and Mi 64 are extremelly rare.

Plate flaws and graver’s marks

Because of the large quantity of issued stamps and different kind of a printing, this issue has many, many plate flaws and errors, But for some of them it is not clear whether they are actually graver’s marks and noone can know for sure!

Some values were printed on the gum side, and there is also the offset print on the back (abklatsch) on many values.

Color proofs

Color proofs exist for a following stamps: Mi 47, 48, 49, 51, 52, 53, 54, 56, 57, 58, 60, 61, 64, 65.
Because of the fact that this issue was printed three times over a long time span and on different types of paper, there are quite striking differences in color shades of regular stamps!

Graver’s proofs

Graver’s proofs in the big format:

Karl Seizinger special gravers proofs in a smaller format than the actual stamps also exist, but they are very rare. Here’s a selection of proofs in various sizes:

Stamp Mi 52 (Zagreb) also exists as an imperforated proof with a slightly different picture, with a few houses visible near the inscription “Zagreb”. Those houses were erased in the final solution for the issued stamp.
