Sheets

Graver’s marks

On both panes we can find graver’s mark on the stamp on position 12. Graver’s marks are numbers: 1,2, 4 and 9.

Perforations

Many perforation errors are present, such as double perforations or missed perforations on all sides.

All stamps in this issue were intended to be in the rouletted perforation. The intention was abandoned once it became clear that separation of this perforation could easily damage the stamps.
Nevertheless, all issued stamps Mi 70-73 could be found in that perforation. Mi 71-73 are extremely rare, and probably come from the NDH Postal Museum.

Block 2 Mi 76-77imperforated35.937 issued

Graver’s marks on blocks

The imperforated block has a graver’s mark  – black letter “R” on the stamp Mi 76 and white letter “V” on the stamp Mi 77. Firstly it was determined that there were 2.000 of each graver mark’s printed but Wieneke in his catalogue determines that only 1.200 blocks with gravers mark exist. All blocks with a graver’s mark “R” have a plate flaw – bomb on the wing, but some blocks with the same plate flaw exist without a graver’s mark “R”, but they are rare.
