This stamp was issued by the City of Zagreb and was sold by the special post office of the “Zagreb on Stamps” exhibition only in conjunction with the admission ticket (for 6.50 kuna) for a total value of 10 kuna. Each visitor to the exhibition could purchase a maximum of four miniature sheets of this stamp.
The stamp was later approved by the Post Office for usage on all shipments through the Post offices, but actually, this stamp was never sold at any other Post office except that one at the exhibition.

The stamp was issued in mini sheets of eight stamps on paper with a burelage of small Zagreb coat of arms.

700 numbered commemorative folders with a signature of the Zagreb Mayor Werner exist, but there are also some unnumbered folders, which are rare.

5.000 special postcards with motifs of old Zagreb were also issued with a special cancel with black or gold cancel.

After the WWII those stamps were used as revenue stamps with black and very rare red overprint.
