The design of this issue is the same as on the stamp of the first value, Mi 106.

It took almost half a year until all the stamps of this set were delivered to the post offices and were available to use. And then, due to procurement problems during the war, the stamps were also printed on paper of different thicknesses – particularly noticeable in pieces with glued paper webs – and different perforations were used.

Stamps are printed in sheets of 100 stamps.

Stamps are printed usually on a normal ofset paper, but Mi 128,129,130,131,132,141,142,143  and 147 on a pelure paper. There is also Mi 142 on thicker paper.

Plate numbers

There are 1-4 plate numbers on each stamp in this set. Rarest ones are Mi 142 plate no. 1 and Mi 144 Plate no. 4

Perforations

Stamps Mi 129, 131,132,133,135,136,140,,142,143,144,145,146,147 are issued in perforation 14, other stamps Mi 128,130,134,137138,139 are issued in perforation L 12 1/2 , 12 14 : 12, 13 : 12 ½. Mi 141 exist in a both type of perforations. In the Minister album there is also a full set in perforation L 11 ½.

Varieties and errors

Interesting material include both side print, Mi 131 on one side and DD double print of Mi 130 on Mi 131, double and both side print of Mi 129 and Mi 133, double print on Mi 128 and Mi 142 and perforated Mi 135.

Abklatch (ofset print on the back) exist for all values.

Graver’s mark

There’s a graver mark ‘S’ on Mi 147 (plate position 81,90)

Color proofs

Minister albums

Minister albums were issued for this set, and inside them are imperforated sets, only vertically and horizontally perforated, and perforated sets in 11 ½. There are also imperforate sets with abklatsch, imperforated sets on carton paper, and color proofs for the whole set. Additional color proofs could be also find from maculature.

Many other materials as printers waste could be find, Mi 131 printed on a lottery tickets,
